What to Pack for a 3 Week Trip to Europe
There is nothing more exciting than planning a trip to Europe, especially if it turns into a multiple week trip. I’m all about spending as much time as possible overseas, but the idea of packing for three weeks was incredibly intimidating to me.
Our trip was from April to mid-May, so I knew that the weather would be unpredictable. In addition, we were traveling to Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, France, and Turkey…so I knew that the climate was going to be fluctuating immensely.
Luggage:
We brought identical luggage and opted for two backpacks versus anything that rolls on the ground. It felt silly to carry a backpack on the front and back while we were in airports, but it was speedy and so much easier than rolling things behind us. Plus, our carry-on backpacks were perfect for day trips and hiking while on vacation.
Clothing:
One of the most important parts about packing for Europe was to bring clothing that I could layer and dress up or down. This was the selection that I packed.
- 2 pairs of jeans
- 2 pairs of leggings
- Capri leggings
- Black Nike athletic shorts
- White & khaki shorts
- 3 dresses (white, blue, and teal)
- 12 “classy” tops – most were three-quartered length or short sleeved
- 2 sweaters
- 8 athletic tops
- 1 Columbia black fleece
- 1 half-zip hoodie
- 1 scarf (multi-colored)
- 1 rain jacket
- 1 under armor cold gear shirt
- 2 white cami’s
- 1 swimsuit / cover up
Self Care Products:
- Shampoo / Conditioner
- Perfume
- Fingernail clippers
- Toothbrush / paste / floss
- Toiletries
- Makeup / face wipes
- Hair brush
- Jewelry
- Baseball cap / sunglasses
Shoes:
- 1 pair tennis shoes
- 1 pair black ballet flats
- 1 pair knee high leather boots
- 1 pair flip flops
- 2 pairs of casual flats (Vans/slip ons)
Bulky Items:
- Purse (I carried a small leather one the whole time)
- Water bottle
Electronics:
- Cell phone charger
- Mini laptop
- HDMI Cable
- GPS for International Countries
- Camera
Miscellaneous Items:
- Intinerary (I printed out a list of hotel confirmations / etc)
- Notebook / journal
- Pens and pencils
- Passport / wallet / IDs
- Granola bars + snacks
And there ya have it! Obviously, this list needs to be tweaked depending on where exactly your vacation is, but I was happy with everything I had brought and didn’t feel that I could have cut any of these items out.
Have fun on your next trip! Europe is an incredible place and I can’t wait to go back!
